Tyra Banks Leaving ‘America’s Got Talent’ to Focus on Producing

Tyra Banks will exit her “America’s Got Talent” hosting gig, sources exclusively confirm to Page Six.

The top model-turned-media maven has previously hinted she could leave the NBC talent show, revealing in late November on “Access,” “I think I had a really nice run with ‘AGT.’ I had a lot a lot of fun” and that she was focusing on her Freeform movie sequel, “Life Size-2: A Christmas Eve.”

A source close to Banks told Page Six that after the film’s success this month, Banks has had a raft of offers and will focus on producing television.

“’Life Size-2’ went way beyond expectations… it was Freeform’s biggest premiere of the year… executives were over the moon with the cult classic sequel,” said a source.

The source added, “Tyra’s been inundated with producing and acting requests… she wants to produce and create TV. She will not be returning to ‘AGT’ in the new year.”

Banks, who executive produced and starred in “Life Size-2,” just topped Nielsen’s ranking of primetime TV talent that spark social media activity — over newsmen Chris Hayes and Sean Hannity.

Said a pal, “She loved her time at ‘AGT.’”

Banks has also been teasing a big 2019 project — she’s previously said she wants to make a “Coyote Ugly” after she starred in the 2000 original with Piper Perabo.
