Producers Eyed Meghan Markle for Bond Girl Role
Meghan Markle was once shortlisted to be a Bond Girl, The Sun can reveal.
The actress, 36, caught the eye of 007 producers in her role as Rachel Zane in legal drama “Suits” last year.

Bosses wanted a glamorous actress for the upcoming films and thought Markle would be a perfect fit.
But Markle’s then-fledgling relationship with Prince Harry, 33, ruled her out of the role, as producers believed she would be unattainable.
She would have joined the long list of previous Bond girls, including Halle Berry and Gemma Arterton.
Though Markle may have lost the role for the upcoming 2019 Bond flick, she likely isn’t too upset about it.
Markle revealed she has quit acting following her engagement to the royal.
She said in an interview with The BBC following the news of her engagement that she is “transitioning” out of her acting career, confirming she will not be returning for the eighth season of “Suits.”
Markle said, as she sat beside her royal fiancé, “I don’t see it as giving anything up. I see it as a change. It’s a new chapter.”
Prior to her breakout role in “Suits,” the actress made appearances on shows like “CSI: Miami,” “90210” and “Castle.”
When asked in the couple’s first interview about giving up her career, a smitten Markle replied: “I don’t see it as giving anything up. I just see it as a change.”
