Mission: Impossible – Fallout Featurette Spotlights Tom Cruise’s Death-Defying Stunts
Tom Cruise is never not doing stunts that would send any normal person (or even trained professional, in some cases) straight to the hospital, and he’s back at it again for Mission: Impossible – Fallout.
A new featurette for the flick, directed by Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie, highlights the death-defying stunts Cruise performs as franchise lead Ethan Hunt.
There are the standard battles with the bad guys, who somehow manage to keep their suits looking freshly ironed even in the middle of a brawl, and sprints across bridges, but Cruise also kicks things up a notch in Fallout by leaping out of a plane at 25,000 feet to perform what’s known as a HALO jump, presumably the same stunt the actor trained for a year to get right.
Mission: Impossible – Fallout won’t strictly stick to its name and focus solely on Cruise’s Ethan Hunt falling out of things, however. The film will also feature a “big, emotional, entertaining story,” as Cruise promises in this new featurette, and will allow fans the chance see, feel, and experience things they haven’t yet before.
