Nearly two months after he died, Luke Perry‘s final episode of “Riverdale” is set to air on Wednesday.
Creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has revealed that this week’s episode of the hit CW show was the last episode Perry filmed before his death.
“This week’s #Riverdale is the last episode Luke filmed,” he tweeted on Sunday. “As always, Fred’s imparting words of wisdom to Archie. A beautiful, true moment between a father and his son. Wish these scenes could go on forever…”
The tweet, accompanied by a picture of Perry as Archie Andrews’ father, Fred, garnered an emotional reaction from fans online.
“…won’t be the same without him,” one fan wrote alongside a broken heart emoji.
“Goodbye to the most kind hearted person in Riverdale,” another replied. “Fred will seriously be missed!”
Perry was hospitalized due to a major stroke on Feb. 27. He died a few days later, having never regained consciousness. He was 52.
Last month, “Riverdale” co-star Cole Sprouse shared that the show had planned something to address Perry’s death while appearing on “The View.”
“I can’t go too much into the spoilers of it, but we do have something planned narratively,” he said, adding that “we dedicated some of the episodes to him.”
