Fox Moves ‘I Can See Your Voice’ to Fall

Fox is moving up its unscripted series I Can See Your Voice to the fall, pairing the new show with The Masked Singer on Wednesday nights.

The broadcaster filmed the entirety of I Can See Your Voice during the summer, following production guidelines to ensure safety for cast and crew during the coronavirus pandemic. The Ken Jeong-hosted series is set to premiere Sept. 23, following the season premiere of The Masked Singer.

Fox will also offer up a preview of The Masked Singer following its NFL doubleheader on Sept. 13, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

A completed season of Masterchef Junior, which was filmed prior to the pandemic and originally slated for Wednesdays in the fall, will be held for later in the 2020-21 season. Fox has also set a Sept. 22 premiere for Cosmos: Possible Worlds (which aired on National Geographic earlier in the year), and the network’s first Thursday Night Football broadcast is scheduled for Oct. 8.

Like The Masked Singer, I Can See Your Voice is based on a South Korean format. Judges Cheryl Hines and Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, along with Jeong (who’s also a Masked Singer judge), guest panelists and a different music superstar each week, will try to help contestants tell the difference between good and bad singers — without ever hearing them sing a note. Whomever the contestant picks will then sing a duet with the music star and reveal whether they can carry a tune.
