Why Bradley Cooper was Missing From the Grammys

Bradley Cooper was noticeably absent from the 2019 Grammys, but he was representing his directorial debut, “A Star Is Born,” abroad.

Cooper attended the British Academy Film Awards on Sunday, taking home a win for the film for best original music.

“I got to fulfill a dream I never thought would happen,” he said at the ceremony. “And I got to do it with some of the best musicians in the world. The music was the heartbeat of the film.”

Cooper, 44, was slated to be seated near Margot Robbie and Rami Malek at the BAFTAs, per a released seating plan. Although they did not sit near each other, Taylor Swift also skipped this year’s Grammys in lieu of the awards show.

Back in the United States, Lady Gaga accepted the awards for best pop duo/group performance for “Shallow” and best song written for visual media, also for “Shallow.”
