It was a 1997 crime drama set in 1950’s Los Angeles, and now L-A CONFIDENTIAL may be headed to television. 

CBS has ordered up a pilot for the potential show, billed as a modern take on the story.  The original film was based on James Ellroy’s best selling dark novel, about three very different homicide detectives pursuing a sadistic killer.

It’s a new TNT drama following a chain of gruesome murders in New York at the end of the 19th century.  The show centers on a band of social outsiders who use innovative technology to find the city’s first serial killer. 

Dakota Fanning costars in the series THE ALIENIST, and she told me there are many aspects of the story that attracted her to the role.

Last year, he won the Tony for his starring role in the Broadway hit DEAR EVAN HANSEN, and now Ben Platt is set to star in a new series for Netflix. 

Titled THE POLITICIAN, the show is described as a satirical musical comedy revolving around a wealthy statesman.  Barbara Streisand and Gwyneth Paltrow are reportedly in talks to join the cast with production expected to begin this summer.

Fox Animation and Universal Music Group, teaming up to make a new film based on the songs of Bob Marley. 

According to Variety, BLACK-ISH creator Kenya Barris will write and produce the project, which is still in the early stages of development.  The movie is described as an animated musical love letter to the people of Jamaica and the reggae legend’s iconic compositions.

It’s a movie adaptation of Beatrix Potter’s classic children’s book, about a mischievous rabbit named Peter. 

After farmer McGregor moves into the neighborhood, Peter and his siblings set out to break into the man’s vegetable garden, resulting in a feud for the ages.  James Corden stars (Peter) in the family adventure PETER RABBIT.

Julianne Moore, and her husband, writer and director Bart Freundlich developing a remake of the 2006 Danish drama AFTER THE WEDDING.

The original movie starred Mads Mikkelsen as the manager of an orphanage who discovers a life-altering family secret. The motion picture went on to pick up an Oscar nomination for best foreign-language film.  The new version will reportedly cast women in the lead roles and will be set in and around New York.
