Oscars’ Biggest Nominees Get This (unofficial) Swag Bag Worth More Than $100K

Here’s one perk of being a high-profile Oscar nominee: You get a bunch of free stuff.

For the 17th year, each nominee in the acting and directing categories at the Academy Awards is receiving the famously luxe/absurd “Everyone Wins” swag bag (one that’s not associated with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences) from marketing company Distinctive Assets. That means 25 A-listers get a suitcase full of freebies – including cannabis chocolates, a certificate for a “phobia relief” session and a trip to the Galapagos Islands – delivered to their home or hotel.

If a recipient redeemed the entire bounty, “it would be (worth) a strong six figures,” Distinctive Assets founder Lash Fary says.

Though there’s no Oscar host this year, Fary says he’s sending a gift bag to Kevin Hart, who relinquished his hosting duties after controversial anti-gay remarks he made years ago resurfaced. He also sent one to Samuel L. Jackson after the actor talked on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” about how he’s only going back to the Oscars “if I’m getting a goodie bag.” (He presented last year and didn’t receive one.)

Here’s a look at some past goodies that nominees received.

How about a trip to the Galapagos, the Amazon, Iceland or Costa Rica and Panama, complete with spa treatments and cooking lessons from International Expeditions.
