Norman Lear Celebrates “Most Joyous” Morning in His 98 Years With Biden Victory

Norman Lear on Saturday morning said in all his 98 years, he never had a “more joyous” morning than when he learned Joe Biden had defeated Donald Trump to become the next president-elect of the United States.

The iconic television show creator and producer said in a video posted to social media, “I could not be happier, more content, more excited about the return of my America. I feel it had been lost in recent years.”

The 2020 election was called in the early morning hours by numerous media outlets after a batch of votes from Pennsylvania propelled Biden to a win. Hollywood stars shared their jubilation via social media.

Lear, who created and produced the legendary show All in the Family (among several others) is also a United States Army Air Forces veteran. “I flew 52 missions in World War II with the same kind of love I am experiencing in this moment; with the joy of knowing we have a solid president for the next four years and a return to sanity. God bless America.
