One Piece season two is rounding out its cast.
Katey Sagal and Mark Harelik are the newest additions to the cast, Netflix announced Wednesday. They’ll portray Dr. Kurehao and Dr. Hiriluk, respectively. Sagal is known for her roles in Sons of Anarchy and The Conners, while Harelik recently appeared in AppleTV+’s Presumed Innocent and The Morning Show.
The actors join previously announced new castmembers Brendan Sean Murray as Brogy, Callum Kerr as Smoker, Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5, Clive Russell as Crocus, Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9, David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine, Julia Rehwald as Tashigi, Rob Colletti as Wapol, Ty Keogh as Dalton and Werner Coetser as Dorry.
One Piece season two will see Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero, Taz Skylar, Ilia Isorelys Paulino, Jeff Ward and Michael Dorman reprise their respective roles from season one.
The series, a live-action adaptation of one of the longest-running animes in history, follows Godoy’s “Monkey D. Luffy on a legendary high-seas adventure. After finally deciding to follow his dreams of freedom, he assembles a crew, finds a ship to sail and sets out on a treasure hunt to become King of the Pirates. But along the way, he and his crew must face the harsh sea and dangerous rivals.”
Jamie Lee Curtis had previously lobbied to portray Dr. Kurehao, the role that ended up going to Sagal instead. In September 2023, amid last year’s SAG-AFTRA strike, she posted an Instagram carousel of her as the character and a compilation of fans wanting her to take on the role.
“ONCE the STRIKE … is SETTLED with a FAIR CONTRACT, I will lobby along with the growing fan frenzy to become Doctor Kureha in @onepiecenetflix,” Curtis wrote in part.
