New Yorker writer and CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin has been suspended from the Condé Nast publication pending an investigation, a spokesperson tells The Hollywood Reporter.
At the same time, Toobin will also step back from his on-air role at the cable news channel, with a CNN spokesperson saying “Jeff Toobin has asked for some time off while he deals with a personal issue, which we have granted.”
The suspension comes after Toobin reportedly exposed himself during a Zoom meeting between members of The New Yorker‘s staff and the public radio station WNYC. Toobin told Vice News, which first reported the incident, “I made an embarrassingly stupid mistake, believing I was off-camera. I apologize to my wife, family, friends and co-workers.”
