“Daily Pop” and “Nightly Pop” have been canceled by E!, the network has confirmed to Variety. The cancellation comes as part of a restructuring of the network.
Details of the talk shows’ end as well as the new leadership team were announced to staff in a memo from Tracie Wilson, who serves as NBCUniversal’s executive vice president of syndication studios, on Friday morning.
In it, Wilson shared that as Tammy Filler continues her role as executive vice president and editor-in-chief of E! News, she will have three direct reports including Jen Lavin leading creative, Jamie Blynn leading online editorial and someone who will be hired to lead digital strategy.
Additionally, on the production side, Ed Zarcoff will lead E!’s production group as senior vice president of news operations, reporting to Wilson and collaborating with Vinnie Fusco and Kristin Killackey, who continue lead first-run production operations.
“Daily Pop,” which premiered in May 2017 and is currently hosted by Justin Sylvester and Loni Love, will air its last episode in mid-September. “Nightly Pop” premiered in October 2018 and is hosted by Morgan Stewart, Nina Parker and Hunter March. It will end its run in early October.
Wilson also noted plans to launch a new nightly show on E! in late October. Details are yet to come, but the show is intended to “return to the roots of the E! News brand as the gold standard of entertainment news coverage.”
