Coronavirus concerns have caused the temporary shutdown of TV’s “The Amazing Race,” according to a report.
The global-competition reality series on CBS filmed three episodes of Season 33 when the network pulled the plug, citing “concerns and uncertainty regarding the coronavirus around the world,” Variety reported Friday.
The suspension of taping is only precautionary, a CBS rep said in a statement.
“All contestants and production staff are in the process of returning home,” the statement said.
“At this time, no Racers or anyone on the production team travelling with them have contracted the virus, or shown symptoms, and we are not aware of anyone being exposed to it,” the statement said.
Everyone involved in the taping will be monitored “out of an abundance of caution,” the statement continued.
