Carrie Fisher won her first Grammy award posthumously, taking home the prize for best spoken word album for the audio version of her memoir The Princess Diarist.
Fisher was previously nominated for a Grammy in the same category in 2009 for the audio recording of her book Wishful Drinking.
The 2016 memoir was inspired by the diary entries that Fisher wrote while working on the first “Star Wars” film in 1977. Released five weeks before her death on Dec. 27, 2016, Fisher’s fourth book revealed even more details from her past, including an onset affair with co-star Harrison Ford.
Fisher beat out Bernie Sanders and Mark Ruffalo, nominated for the audiobook version of Sanders’ Our Revolution: A Future to Believe In; Neil Degrasse Tyson (Astrophysics for People in a Hurry), Bruce Springsteen (Born to Run) and Shelly Peiken (Confessions of a Serial Songwriter).
